This Privacy Policy describes how Ali3N Studios LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Ali3N PhotoLens mobile application (“App”). This policy supplements our general Ali3N Studios Privacy Policy.
Ali3N PhotoLens is a professional photo editor designed to keep your photos on your device. We do not upload your photos to any server. We do not require an account. We do not sell your data, and we do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
1. Your Photos Stay On Your Device
PhotoLens performs all editing locally on your device using on-device image processing. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers, never sent to a cloud service, and never transmitted to any third party. The App does not perform server-side AI enhancement, and it does not back up your photos to any remote storage.
When you choose to share an edited photo from within the App, your device’s standard share sheet handles the transfer. Whatever destination you select — another app, email, social media — is governed by that destination’s own privacy policy.
2. Data We Collect
No Account Required
PhotoLens does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifying information.
Analytics & Crash Reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous usage data and crash reports. This data is keyed to a Firebase Installation ID, which is generated by Google and is unique to your installation of the App on your device. No personal identifiers are tied to this data. This helps us understand which editing features are used, identify crashes, and improve app stability.
Advertising Identifier (Google Play and Galaxy Store versions only)
The versions of PhotoLens distributed through Google Play and Samsung Galaxy Store serve ads to free users via Google AdMob. AdMob uses the Android Advertising ID (AAID) to serve relevant ads and enforce frequency caps. AdMob’s data practices are described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
The version of PhotoLens distributed through Amazon Appstore (for Fire tablets) does not include ads and does not use any advertising identifier.
Pro users who purchase the in-app upgrade see no ads on any platform.
Camera and Photo Library Access
PhotoLens requests permission to access your camera (to take new photos) and your photo library (to open existing photos). These permissions are used solely to provide the editing experience. The App does not browse, scan, catalog, or transmit any photos in your library that you have not explicitly opened.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone, address, or any other personally identifying information
- We do not collect or upload your photos
- We do not collect location data (no GPS, no IP geolocation)
- We do not collect contacts or address-book data
- We do not collect health, fitness, or biometric data
- We do not collect microphone or audio data
- We do not collect calendar data
- We do not track users across other apps or websites
- We do not sell any user data, ever
4. Purchases
The optional PhotoLens Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase processed entirely by the store you installed the App from (Google Play, Amazon Appstore, or Samsung Galaxy Store). We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. Purchase verification is handled through the store’s billing SDK. Your Pro entitlement is stored locally on your device.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with the following service providers, each acting on our behalf under a data processing agreement:
- Firebase (Google) — anonymous analytics and crash reporting
- Google AdMob (Google Play and Galaxy Store versions only) — advertising for free users; not used on Amazon Appstore or Pro
We do not share data with data brokers, advertising networks beyond AdMob, social media platforms, or any other third parties. We do not sell data to anyone, ever.
6. Data Retention
- Edited photos: stored on your device only — deleting the App removes everything locally; we have no copy
- Analytics data: retained per Firebase’s standard 14-month retention; anonymized aggregated data may persist longer
- Crash logs: retained per Crashlytics’ standard 90-day retention
- Pro entitlement: stored locally on your device and verifiable through the store you purchased from
7. Children’s Privacy
PhotoLens is a general-audience photo utility and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personally identifying information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
8. Your Rights
Because PhotoLens does not require an account and does not collect personally identifying information, most data-rights requests are satisfied simply by uninstalling the App, which removes all local data. For requests concerning anonymous analytics or crash reports (which cannot be tied to you individually), or for any other privacy concern, contact us at developer@ali3nstudios.com.
If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. We honor those rights to the fullest extent applicable.
9. Account Deletion
PhotoLens has no user accounts. All app data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. Anonymized Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data is not tied to a personal identifier and auto-expires per the retention policies described above.
10. Advertising Choices
On the Google Play and Samsung Galaxy Store versions, you can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device’s system settings:
- Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads — reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads
Opting out does not stop you from seeing ads in the free version — it only stops the ads from being personalized to you. Purchase Pro to remove ads entirely.
11. Security
All network communication used by the App (analytics, crash reports, advertising requests on supported flavors) is encrypted in transit using TLS. Because the App is offline-first and does not transmit your photos, the most sensitive data the App handles — your images — never leaves the encrypted storage of your own device.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
