Privacy Policy

Ali3N Studios LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), a company based in Texas, United States, makes mobile apps and websites. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
  • We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • We collect what a feature needs to work, and say so. Much of what you do in our apps never leaves your device.
  • Our health and wellbeing apps (Extinct, Felt, Tide and Unmasked) never show ads.
  • We never see your full card number. Payments are handled by the app stores or, on the web, by Stripe.
  • We do not use your content to train AI models.

1. Which policy applies

Many of our products have their own privacy policy, which describes that product in detail. Where a product has one, its own policy applies first, and this policy covers anything it does not. Products without their own policy are covered by this one.

New products are covered by this policy from the day they launch, until they publish their own.

2. What stays on your device

Several of our apps and sites keep your data only on your device and never send it to us: for example the calculators in EV Load Calc and LowVoltCalc, the sounds in Pulse Lab and R3son8, and the songs, artwork and videos you use in BeatFractal. Uninstalling the app, or clearing the site’s data in your browser, removes it.

3. What we collect, and why

Depending on the product and the features you use:

  • Account details. Your email address, an optional name, and how you sign in (a password we keep only as a one-way hash, or a Google or Apple sign-in). Used to run your account and keep your data in sync between your devices.
  • Things you create or submit. For example restroom listings in OneGo, cat photos in Show Me Your Kitties, or the entries you keep in our tracking apps. Used to provide the feature. Anything that is shown publicly is described in that app’s policy.
  • Health and wellbeing entries. Our tracking apps (Extinct, Felt, Tide, Unmasked) store what you choose to record so they can show it back to you and, if you ask, summarise it. These entries are never used for advertising. Each app’s policy explains exactly what it stores and where.
  • Location. Only in apps that need it (such as OneGo, to show places near you), only with your permission, and never for advertising.
  • Purchases. What you bought and whether it is active (for example a subscription’s renewal date), so we can unlock what you paid for. See section 5.
  • Diagnostics. Crash reports and basic device details (model, system version) so we can fix problems. On BeatFractal, a report when a render fails, linked to your account number, not your email.
  • Messages you send us. When you email us or use a contact form (on this website, or in BeatFractal), we keep your message and email address so we can answer.
  • Server logs. Like every website, our servers and our network provider see the IP address and browser details of each request. These are used for security and to keep the services running.

4. AI features

Some apps offer features powered by AI, such as photo restoration, image enhancement, reflections on your entries, or a room roast. When you use one, the content needed for that request (a photo, or the text involved) is sent to our server and on to an AI provider to produce the result. Depending on the app, the provider is Anthropic (Claude, through Amazon Web Services), Google (Gemini), OpenAI or Replicate. Each app’s policy names its provider and says what, if anything, is kept afterwards. We do not use your content to train AI models. In our health and wellbeing apps, AI features are optional: the app works without them.

5. Payments

  • In apps, purchases go through the store you bought from: the Apple App Store, Google Play, the Amazon Appstore or the Samsung Galaxy Store. Some apps use RevenueCat to confirm a purchase is valid. We receive a confirmation of what you bought, never your payment details.
  • On the web (BeatFractal), payments are processed by Stripe (and Link, where Stripe sells through it). Stripe handles your card and sends your receipt. We keep your Stripe customer number, what you bought and its renewal date. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • Refunds and cancellations follow the store’s rules for app purchases, and each website’s refund page for web purchases (for BeatFractal: refunds and cancellation).

6. Ads

Some free apps show ads through Google AdMob, which may use your device’s advertising identifier to choose ads, under Google’s own policy. Our health and wellbeing apps, BeatFractal and LowVoltCalc never show ads. You can limit ad personalisation in your device settings (see section 10).

7. Who helps us

We use these providers to run our products. Each receives only what it needs for its job, and processes it under its own privacy policy and terms:

8. When we share information

Beyond the providers above, we share personal information only when the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Ali3N Studios LLC, or as part of a sale or merger of the company (in which case this policy continues to apply). We do not sell or rent personal information.

9. How long we keep it

  • Account data is kept while your account exists, and removed when you delete it.
  • Content you submit is kept until you delete it, your account is deleted, or it is removed through moderation.
  • Diagnostics and logs are kept only as long as they are useful for fixing problems and keeping things secure.
  • Purchase records may be kept longer where tax or accounting law requires it.

10. Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or limit how we use it. Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR or U.S. state privacy laws (for example in California and Texas) give you these rights, and we honour them for everyone.

  • Delete your account in the app or site where available, through the deletion page linked from that product’s entry on our app policies page, or by email.
  • Location, photos, notifications and tracking can be turned off at any time in your device settings. On iOS, apps ask before any tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings.
  • Uninstalling an app stops it collecting anything further.

To make a request, email developer@ali3nstudios.com. We may need to confirm it is you, and we answer within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may contact your local data protection authority.

11. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, and by collecting as little as we can. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

12. Children

Our products are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will also tell you in the app or by email where we can.

14. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas and the United States, without taking away any rights the laws where you live give you.
