Extinct — Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete From Within the App (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly from the app:

  1. Open Extinct on your device
  2. Tap the Settings tab
  3. Scroll to the Account section
  4. Tap “Delete account & data”
  5. Type DELETE in the confirmation field
  6. Tap “Delete everything”

This immediately and permanently deletes:

  • Your entire drinking diary (sessions, drinks, medication logs, mood, notes)
  • All milestones (Golden Rule streaks, dry days, extinction-curve progress)
  • Selective extinction triggers and tracking
  • TSM configuration (baseline, start date, medication, unit system)
  • AI Consult monthly/daily counters and acknowledgement state
  • Extinct Pro entitlement linked to this Firebase account
  • Your Firebase authentication account

This action cannot be undone. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

Note: If you used Extinct in guest mode, your data was stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app removes it; you don’t need to take any further action here.

Option 2: Request Deletion by Email

If you no longer have access to the app or are unable to delete your account from within the app, you can request deletion by email. We will process your request within 30 days.

What Happens After Deletion

  • All personal data is removed from our Firebase servers immediately (in-app) or within 30 days (email request)
  • Anonymous analytics data (no personal identifiers) may be retained for app improvement
  • If you purchased Extinct Pro, the purchase record remains with Google or Apple under their refund policies, but the entitlement is removed from our systems
  • You can reinstall the app and create a new account at any time

A Note on Recovery Data

If you are in the middle of treatment using The Sinclair Method, please consider exporting your physician PDF from within the App before deleting your account — it summarizes your progress for your clinician and cannot be regenerated after deletion. Deleting your account does not affect your ability to continue treatment; the data is purely a record of your in-app activity.
